We are delighted to share that our recent Matchday Walk and Talk event—delivered in partnership between TimeOut Gambling Recovery and the Nottingham Forest Community Trust (Nottingham Forest Foundation)—was a resounding success.
Bringing together supporters in a relaxed, welcoming environment ahead of kick-off, the event provided a powerful platform to encourage open conversation, build meaningful connections, and support positive mental wellbeing within the local community.
The Power of Football and Community
Football has a unique and unmatched ability to unite people. This partnership powerfully demonstrated how the game can be leveraged beyond the 90 minutes to tackle social isolation, promote proactive mental health care, and foster safe, supportive spaces for individuals and families affected by gambling-related harm.
Participants were able to share experiences, lean on one another, and access vital support in an informal, judgment-free setting.
Building a Stronger Future for Nottingham
The success of this initiative highlights the incredible impact that can be achieved when organizations join forces for a common cause. We are immensely proud to be working alongside the Nottingham Forest Foundation, whose dedication to the local community continues to change lives across the region.
This is only the beginning. We look forward to building on the momentum of this partnership, expanding our reach, and supporting even more people across Nottingham in the months and years ahead.
"Initiatives like our Walk and Talk prove that no one should have to navigate their challenges alone. Together with the Nottingham Forest Foundation, we are creating a community where talking about gambling harms, mental health issues and seeking support is always welcomed." said Matthew Gospel, a Specialist Gambling Recovery Worker for TimeOut.
