Double Impact is a registered charity and not for profit organisation, established in 1998. We believe that with the right support everybody can recover and that in recovery anything is possible.

We are looking for Recovery Connectors to join the team. To be eligible for this role you will be in long-term Recovery and be passionate about supporting others to achieve abstinence and sustainable change for the future.

As a Double Impact Recovery Connector, you will understand the road to successful long-term recovery from drug or alcohol use and the challenges faced in the journey to get you there. You will understand because you will have been through it yourself, visible proof that with the right support and help, sustained long term recovery is possible.

You will work closely with team managers, team leaders, colleagues and peer mentors, supporting service users to take the recovery journey, building their recovery capital and helping them to navigate their treatment journeys, with the aim that service users are enabled to successfully complete treatment and sustain long term recovery.

You will help us to build a culture of individual aspiration, spreading the messages amongst service users that recovery is worth aspiring to, motivating others starting on their journey by seeing the progress made by their peers.

The Recovery Connector post will provide the opportunity to build, develop skills and knowledge of working in the substance use field, while actively championing recovery, using your own skills and experiences to bring added value to the role.

Candidates will have ideally completed the Double Impact Peer Mentoring Training, be reliable and have basic IT Skills and familiarity with basic IT packages. Successful candidates will uphold the values of Double Impact at all times, championing recovery and possibility thinking – a true motivator to other service users.

We currently have two Recovery Connector posts available within our Rough Sleeper Drug and Alcohol Treatment Pathway’

The Rough Sleeper Drug and Alcohol Treatment Team (RSDATT) is part of NRN.

The team works providing an assertive outreach model aimed at finding, engaging and maintaining people that are sleeping rough or vulnerably housed in treatment for their substance use.

People who are sleeping rough often face severe multiple disadvantages, including as well as homelessness, mental ill health, substance use, contact with the criminal justice system and experiencing domestic / sexual violence.

They also experience a range of physical and mental health inequalities and are far less likely to access health care, which drastically reduces life expectancy and leads to premature death.

We are seeking to employ Health Recovery Connectors. These are new roles that will support people to attend a range of health-related appointments (such as GP appointments, hospital appointments, respiratory clinic, wound care clinic, A&E, health shop, BBV vaccination or testing related, Homeless Health Team etc).

If you would like to have an informal chat about this opportunity please contact: Jess Rowe, Team Leader on 07976 861669 (available from 29 December).

If you would like to be considered for this role, please complete the application form that is attached to the email.

Please forward your completed application form by email to Josie Lawlor, Double Impact HR Officer at josielawlor@doubleimpact.org.uk clearly stating the role that you are applying for.

Double Impact embraces diversity and takes a pro-active approach to equality in services and employment. Registered Charity No. 1139865.
