We’re looking for a Recovery Coach to join our dynamic Academy team within a Community Rehab setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by helping individuals build resilience, develop life skills, and achieve meaningful goals on their path to abstinence and sustained wellbeing.

We are ideally looking for a candidate with lived experience of addiction and recovery.

Main Purpose of the Role
As a Recovery Coach, you will provide personalised, strengths-based support to individuals in recovery. You’ll work one-to-one and in groups, using trauma-informed approaches to empower people to take control of their recovery journey. You’ll also engage with community resources to promote visible recovery and long-term wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
Individual Support & Coaching
• Build trusting, non-judgmental relationships with individuals in recovery.
• Conduct holistic assessments and co-create personalised recovery plans.
• Deliver regular one-to-one coaching sessions tailored to individual strengths and goals.
• Support access to services including housing, mental health, education, and employment.
• Use motivational interviewing and trauma-informed practices to foster emotional wellbeing.
• Carry a caseload and complete risk assessments including safeguarding.
Group Facilitation
• Design and deliver engaging, recovery-focused group sessions.
• Facilitate workshops on resilience, wellbeing, communication, and relapse prevention.
• Promote peer support and community connection through group activities.
Monitoring & Record Keeping
• Maintain accurate records of support, risk assessments, and progress.
• Use digital systems to track outcomes and contribute to service evaluation.
Safeguarding
• Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with policy.
• Promote a safe, inclusive environment and contribute to multi-agency processes.
• Maintain confidential safeguarding records and attend regular training.
Promotion & Engagement
• Promote recovery pathways and learning programmes across the service.
• Encourage visible recovery and celebrate achievements.
• Facilitate referrals to external opportunities in education, volunteering, and employment.
Service Development & Collaboration
• Contribute to continuous improvement of recovery services.
• Collaborate with recovery workers, peer mentors, and community partners.
• Promote service user involvement and co-production.

What We’re Looking For
A compassionate, non-judgmental approach and commitment to trauma-informed care.
Experience in coaching, mentoring, or support work within substance misuse or related fields.
Strong communication and group facilitation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and promote equality and inclusion.
Passion for empowering individuals and promoting visible recovery.
