BBO WORK COACH / EMPLOYMENT ADVISER (2 POSTS)

Contract Type: Fixed term until 31.10.2021 with a possible extension until 31.03.2022
Post 1: Part Time (18.5 hours per week over 3 days); Location: Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
Post 2: Full Time /Job Share (37 hours per week); Location: Nottingham City
(Travel will be required around the local area)
Salary: Post 1: £22,765 pro rata(£11,382.50 for 18.5 hours)

Double Impact is currently working with Groundworks who are lead partner for the BIG Lottery’s Building Better Opportunities Fund, D2N2 LEP, Towards Work Strand.  This exciting programme aims to combat the root causes of poverty, promote social inclusion, challenge long-term unemployment and empower socially excluded people. This project is funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund.

As a committed and motivated individual can you help us deliver the programme?

You will work directly with unemployed and economically inactive participants by effectively delivering a holistic, personalised support service, which empowers participants with the self-belief, skills, motivation and confidence to enable them to progress into employment, self-employment or further training/education.  The successful candidate will facilitate a range of Employability and Personal Development Interventions, via 1:1 and group based learning and development sessions.  You will provide participants with comprehensive initial diagnostic assessments, plan and deliver their learning & development, evaluate and measure their progress and impart guidance, knowledge and mentoring. You will play a pivotal role in helping individuals to overcome their fears and barriers and to develop their employability skills.

The successful person will:

  1. Ideally hold a recognised Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) qualification (minimum of Level 3 or above) qualification
  2. Previous experience of coaching, supporting and placing unemployed/ economically inactive people into employment, self-employment or FE/Training
  3. Previous experience of effective case management of disadvantaged participants, including the delivery of 1:1’s, IAG, diagnostics, action planning, reviewing progress and implementing appropriate Employability & Job search techniques
  4. Ability to negotiate and agree ‘SMART’ objectives with participants, experienced in giving constructive feedback and able to positively transform negative behaviours
  5. Knowledge and understanding of the Local Labour Market, Sector Skills Gaps, local Employment & Skills provision, Specialist Support Networks, and Education & Training provider

RECOVERY CONNECTOR (3 POSTS)

Contract Type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Nottingham City (Nottingham Recovery Network)
Hours: 13.5 hours
Salary: £17,460 pro rata per annum (£6,371 for 13.5 hours)

The Nottingham Recovery Network comprises of Framework Housing Association, Double Impact and Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The service is publicly funded and has been established to support people who misuse drugs and alcohol. We provide a single point of advice, support and treatment for anyone in Nottingham City who wishes to change their relationship with alcohol or drugs.

We are seeking individuals who are in long-term Recovery that are passionate about supporting others to achieve abstinence and sustainable change for the future.

As a Double Impact Recovery Connector, you will understand the road to successful long term recovery from drug or alcohol misuse and the challenges faced in the journey to get you there. You will understand because you will have been through it yourself, visible proof that with the right support and help, sustained long term recovery is possible.

You will work closely with team managers, team leaders, colleagues and peer mentors, supporting service users to take the recovery journey, building their recovery capital and helping them to navigate their treatment journeys, with the aim that service users are enabled to successfully complete treatment and sustain long term recovery.

You will help us to build a culture of individual aspiration, spreading the messages amongst service users that recovery is worth aspiring to, motivating others starting on their journey by seeing the progress made by their peers.

The Recovery Connector post will provide the opportunity to build, develop skills and knowledge of working in the substance misuse field, while actively championing recovery, using your own skills and experiences to bring added value to the role.

Candidates will have ideally completed the DI Mentoring Training, be reliable and have basic IT Skills and familiarity with basic IT packages.

The successful candidate will uphold the values of Double Impact at all times, championing recovery and possibility thinking – a true motivator to other service users.
