Our service users face many barriers to entering or returning to the world of work - for some these can be practical barriers such as poor literacy or IT skills, or less apparent ones such as a lack of understanding of workplace culture.  For the majority, lack of confidence compounds these and can make it difficult for potential employers to see the qualities and skills which they do possess.  As an employer, or an individual from the business community, you can a make a real difference by acting as a coach or mentor to someone wanting to find employment, for example, offering real-life experience of the workplace, enhancing interview skills and giving first hand knowledge of what makes a successful candidate.

Offering this support is also a very rewarding form of volunteering for employees who are looking for meaningful volunteering experiences.
