GUIDE TO REFERRALS INTO DOUBLE IMPACT COUNTY SERVICES

Who is our service for? Double Impact is a service for adults who have experienced difficulties with drug and alcohol use and want to make life

style changes.

To put this in terms of the cycle of change, we work with people who are in the action and maintenance stages and are looking to move away from a drug using lifestyle or maintain their abstinence.

What does this mean for service users? To access Double Impact County service users need to live in Nottinghamshire and be aged 18 or over.

In terms of alcohol, service users should have reached their controlled drinking goal or be abstinent. They should also be able to have alcohol free days and to attend sessions without being effected by alcohol. This includes having residual alcohol in the body following a previous night or days drinking.

Service users experiencing issues with substances should again be able to attend sessions without being effected by them; this includes attending when in withdrawal.

Service users are also welcome to attend while taking prescribed substitute medications as well as when abstinent.
